Natural Stone Care Guide

Stone is a natural material, and all varieties are subject to significant variations in color, texture, and shading. This inherent uniqueness is the beauty of stone and adds value to the final product, making each piece exclusive. Variations in color, stains, and grains—even within the same slab—are not defects but characteristics of the stone itself. Due to the material's natural structure, opaque areas that may feel rough or soft to the touch can appear on the surface. Like all natural materials, stone is subject to color changes over time, often unevenly, due to sun exposure. High-quality finished natural stones are delicate by nature and require proper maintenance to preserve their aesthetic and functional properties over time. Routine care and periodic maintenance can significantly extend the life of our products. The following recommendations are suggestive and may not resolve issues arising from improper use.

Warnings
  • Do not use detergents containing alcohol, acetone, acid, or abrasive substances for cleaning stone surfaces. If aggressive agents come into contact with the stone, promptly clean the area with plenty of water and a mild detergent (e.g., mild soap) to prevent permanent stains.
  • Spilling acidic liquids such as vinegar, lemon juice, soft drinks, fruit juices, or wine can erode stone surfaces and reduce their brightness.
  • Avoid exposure to chemicals and solvents, including acetone, alcohol, paint thinners, bleach-containing detergents, caustic soda, oven cleaners, acids, oily soaps, descalers, markers or ink, abrasive detergents, and sponges.
  • Do not use detergents not specifically designed for stone surfaces, especially acidic or highly alkaline products.
  • Avoid colored detergents that may leave pigment residues, and prevent the material from coming into contact with high-pigment products that could cause permanent stains.
  • Do not use metal pads or abrasive cloths to prevent surface scratches.
  • Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions. If the surface is already damaged, using a detergent may cause further harm.
Coloring Substance Residues
  • Avoid contact with products that have a high coloring potential, such as nail polish, hair dye, self-tanning products, etc., as they may cause permanent stains.
  • Quickly remove stains using a soft cloth or a non-abrasive sponge with a mild detergent.
  • For stubborn stains, repeat the process, rinsing with warm water and wiping with a soft cloth.
